Trishul, a cultural organisation, has started its journey recently. To promote the rich Bengali culture, Trina Majumder a cultural activist of Naogaon has established the organisation. Since its inception the organisation has been performing at different parts of the country, especially in the Rajshahi Division.
Now, the organisation has got a big opportunity to introduce it in the world arena. The organisation will participate in the upcoming ‘Ocean Dance festival’ which will be held at Cox’s Bazar from November 22 to 25. Trishul will participate in the opening day of the festival.
Nrityajog, the Bangladesh chapter of a worldwide dance artists’ organisation, the World Dance Alliance – Asia Pacific (WDA-AP), is organising WDA-AP’s annual ocean festival in Cox’s Bazar. More than 200 dancers, teachers, researchers and choreographers from 15 Asian countries will join the festival.
Naogaon district has a long historical and cultural background. Palligeeti, Murshidi, Bhatiali and Meyeli geet are prominent folk songs in this region. There are many tourist spots in Naogaon, including Paharpur Buddhist Vihara and Halud Vihara, Jagaddal Vihara, Alta Dighi, Dibor Dighi, Kusumba Mosque and Paikbanda Salban.
Besides, there are many ethnic minority groups in Naogaon they added cultural diversity in the region. Being inspired by this rich cultural heritage Trina Majumder established the organisation ‘Trishul’.
